Dear Senior Parents,

There are some important dates that I want to make you all aware. Also, there are other senior activities to plan.

Cap and Gown fee is $25.00 per student. You may make a check out to John Hancock Academy and send with your student to me and we will pay the bill for this. Cap and gown photos will be taken on March 28. If your student has not paid, he/she will not receive the cap and gown until that is cleared.

March 6                 PTO 7 pm at approx 7:30 Senior Parents Meeting to plan for graduation..

March 28               Spring photos for underclassmen and retake day for the two girls and one boy who requested. Cap & Gown photos.

April 1                    Prom

April 3-7                Spring Break

April 10                  PTO 7 pm and approx 7:30 Senior Parents Meeting to finalize graduation.

April 30                  11:00 am Senior Recognition at Pierce Memorial United Methodist in Sparta. Seniors will meet in the annex at 10:45 am. Please wear: young men- shirt, tie, khakis, and dress shoes; young women-dressy clothes appropriate for church. Pierce is located on Boland St. at the light turn left from Milledgeville instead of right toward JHA. Parking is behind the church off Hamilton St or in the Bank of Hancock parking lot. Lunch will be served after the service with seniors and their families as guests.

May 7                    11:00 am Baccalaureate at Sparta Baptist Church located at the split of Hwy 15 and 16. Parking is across the street on Boland St. Seniors will meet at 10:45 on the lower level. Wear cap and gown. Men wear shirt, tie, khakis, and dress shoes; women wear white shoes and appropriate dress under white robes. Lunch will be served after the service.

May 9,10,11,12   Senior Finals

May 15                All make up work, any fees, or monies owed JHA must be completed or paid to be able to walk at graduation. All students who have not completed correspondence courses or independent studies or college prep candidates who did not take the three SAT II subject tests required before May testing will not receive their diplomas or transcripts until all monies, work and/or test scores are cleared in the office.

May 18                Graduation practice at 9:00 am on Green Field.

                            Graduation is at 7:30 pm on Green Field.

                            Attire- Men-wear cap and gown, shirt, tie, khakis, and dress shoes;

                            Women-cap and gown, white shoes and appropriate dress under white robes.

May --                 Phone and /or letter will notify anyone waiting on completion of course work or test scores when diploma may be picked up and transcripts issued.
